.uk transfers go online…fax for sale

Catching up with Web 1.0, Nominet announced today that online registrant transfers will go live on the 25th June.

While I’m as pleased as punch that

  • I’ll no longer have to fill out these forms again
  • I won’t take two months to actually get around to doing it after paying for new domains.

I’m a tad annoyed that this comes only a few weeks after I finally relented and bought a bloody fax machine to speed up the process! The #1 speed dial button on my fax is actually set to Nominet! Anyone want to make me an offer for a Lexmark X5495?

Online transfers will be £10 per domain or £10 per bulk request.

iRobot Roomba

Not really a toy, but I do love my gadgets! Ordered this last week and been hoovering ever since. The iRobot Roomba takes an everyday task and goes all Arthur C Clarke.

Aswell as being a rather nifty gadget for the home, it also has an Open Interface so you can do all sorts of cool and geeky things to it. It’s not all that new, but loads of hacks and apps linked from here. There’s also a version called Scooba that mops and hoovers!

Maz leaves AffiliateFuture TMN

It’s gone largely un-announced and unnoticed, but Maziar Darvish (co-founder of IBG) recently left the building!

I know this as tomorrow I’m off to his “thank you”/”leaving” party in London. Should be a great night at a stunning venue!

Maz was one of the first industry people to take any notice of us when we ran Holiday Watchdog, seen our potential and helped us realise it; Maz became a firm friend and trusted advisor. I’m sorry to see him go from AffiliateFuture, but confident it’s still in good hands.

While he’s currently on a short break from 20 hour days, Maz will be back in the near future getting his hands dirty in the world of start-ups!

All the best mate!
